Chakra Balancing Meditation

Previously in my post about Archangel Haniel, I referenced a meditation that I believe helped me get in touch with her. The meditation began as a way to clear my energy on a day that I was feeling really off. I felt angry and stressed out, so I just started from the lowest chakra and worked my way up. In this post, I will give some basic information about each chakra as we go through the meditation. Fun fact: I didn’t know the colors of the chakras until I started doing this meditation! If you start from the root chakra and go up, they are the same color pattern as a rainbow.

Before we begin, it is important to know that there are no rules to meditating. I will go through this guide the way that helps me through this meditation, but if something else works for you, that’s okay! Also, there is no time limit. An old friend once told me that fifteen minutes is a good amount for a meditation, especially as a beginner. If you feel like you need longer, or want to focus more on certain chakras, that is absolutely okay! Trust your energy to tell you where you need more or less. The more you practice, the better you will get at clearing your energy and giving strength where you need it. Notice any colors or images that appear in your minds eye, but do not dwell on any specific one. Allow them to flow as you go through this meditation. To begin, sit or stand in a comfortable position. Take a few deep breaths, in through your nose and out through your mouth.. in.. and out.. in.. and out.. now let’s begin.

Root Chakra

The root chakra (red) is located at the base of your spine, right around your tailbone. Some people imagine it at their feet, but for this meditation specifically I focus the energy on my lower back. The root chakra focuses on our sense of stability, basic needs, and connection to the earth. Place your palms on your lower back and close your eyes. Repeat out loud or in your mind, whichever you prefer: “I am safe and secure in my enviroment. I have all that I need, and attract abundance in every aspect of life. I am grounded and have a strong connection to the Earth.” If there is something you would like help balancing or clearing, sometimes wording it as a request rather than a mantra helps. For example: “Please assist me in creating a safe and stable enviroment.” Or “Help me to become more connected with nature and the Earth.”

Sacral Chakra

Move your hands up to the spot on your abdomen just below your naval. This is where your sacral chakra (orange) is located. This chakra governs sensuality, and creativity. Focus on your sensual self and your creativity. Silently or outloud, say: “I am confident in my creative abilities. I am attractive and healthy. I am comfortable and happy with my sex life.” Just as with the root chakra, if there are areas you would like assistance, use this time to ask. “Please help me embrace my sensual self. Give me guidance for expressing myself creatively.” If you find yourself wanting to do art of some kind, allow yourself to try it. Do not worry about it looking “good” or “right.” Expressing yourself creatively will keep the this chakra working and balanced.

Solar Plexus

The solar plexus chakra (yellow) is located above the naval and focuses on empowerment and vitality. Place your palms over your solar plexus and focus on those aspects of yourself. Say: “I am strong, independent, and confident. I am living the life I want, and I have the power to change it at any time. I can accomplish anything.” For help balancing this chakra, you can say: “Please help me discover my personal power. Help me feel proud and confident in my choices and accomplishments. Help me feel strong.” BONUS! If you are feeling anxious about a project or job, take a few deep breaths and rub/clap your hands together. Imagine all of the nervous energy from your body turning yellow and being sent to your palms. When you feel ready, place your energized palms over that space and imagine sending that energy to that chakra. Take as long as you need to do this. Feeling a bit better? If so, you just successfully transferred energy to a place where it can be transmuted and used productively! Great job!

Heart Chakra

The heart chakra (green) is located in the center of the chest. It is known for healing, compassion, and caring for others. Place your hands over your heart chakra and say “I practice compassion every day, for myself and others. I am healing at my own pace.” This is one that really might require extra help, so do not be afraid to ask for assistance! “Please help me to be an open and compassionate person. Help me discover what needs to heal and assist me in healing myself.” If you have a difficult time opening up to people, working on this chakra can be a little scary. Opening the heart chakra does not mean opening up to emotional pain. It means you will have and understand the tools for any emotional healing that needs to be done.

Throat Chakra

The throat chakra (blue) is found at the center of the neck. This one is the connection between emotion and intellect, and governs communication and the true voice. Place your hands gently on the front of your neck and say “I speak my truth clearly. I am not afraid to voice my thoughts, feelings, or opinions. I know when to pick my battles and when to save my energy.” When I first started this meditation, I was looking for help with this chakra specifically. I asked, “Please give me assistance in finding and speaking my true voice. Help me speak clearly. Help me sing out loud again, because I miss it.” I have always been nervous about singing out loud around people, but I have had a lot of help in the last month with it, and I am eliminting that fear. If you have similar fears, or find yourself silencing your voice in some way, spend some extra time with this chakra!

Third Eye Chakra

The third eye (indigo) is located just above the spot where your eyebrows would meet, in the center of your forehead. It governs clairvoyance, psychic ability, and detecting BS. I am not kidding, your third eye is responsible for seeing past the surface, beyond what the other two eyes can see. I practice with this one a bit differently, and you can do whatever feels comfortable for you. When I do this meditation, I take both of my pinkies and place them on my third eye, and allow my palms to fall over my other two eyes. Some mantras for the third eye are: “I am able to see clearly on all levels. I am not fooled by the masks of others. I embrace my psychic abilities.” When asking for assistance with this chakra, you can say: “Please help me open my third eye. Help me receive clairvoyant messages. Show me what I am ready to see.” This is an especially important time to note any colors, words, or symbols that appear in your minds eye. As previously stated, try not to dwell on any one image. Allow them to flow and show you any messages you need to see. Think of it like a voicemail box (or regular mailbox!). If you focus too much on one message, you probably won’t retain what the others are saying.

Crown Chakra

The crown chakra is the one I like to end the meditation on, because by this point I am feeling calm and focused. The crown chakra (violet) is located just above the head. This chakra is our connection to the universe and Divine power. We are all connected through the power, and our crown chakras are the access point. To balance this one, I hold my arms above my head and turn my palms up towards the sky, so it kind of looks like a cup or a funnel. If it helps, you can inter-lace your fingers. Say: ” I am open to the source of divine energy. I allow this energy to flow through me. I am connected. I am one with everything.” If you need it, you can phrase those as requests for guidance. “Please help me find my divine connection. Assist me in circulating this universal energy.” After I finish my mantras and requests, I take a deep breath and ask for any other messages or guidance for me. I then ask if there is anything I can do for the angels, guides, and universe, and thank them for their support and assistance in helping me balance and clear my chakras. You can phrase it however you are comfortable, but do make sure to express your gratitude.

It is important to remember that the reason for meditating is to achieve stillness and focus. Do not worry about following any guide exactly, because everybody works differently. You don’t need to time it, let your energetic body lead and tell you what needs more attention. You may not feel like a brand new person after the first try, so you keep practicing! Learn what methods work for you, and have fun with them. Remember to thank your angels and spirit guides! They do a lot of behind-the-scenes work to help us, and expressing our gratitude is deeply appreciated. Thank you for reading this meditation guide. I hope it helps you as it has helped me!
